Description
Is high education a benefit or a drawback when working in the telecom industry? Is the academia providing the students with the necessary tools to understand what happens in the real world? What to look for when hiring a new employee? Do we, in the industry, exploit the tools, and energy from young students who look at the industry with new fresh eyes? Are industry and research too far from each to actually find any synergies between these two worlds?
This talk aims to tackle these questions from a person who has had a foot in both worlds. The idea is not providing statements of truth, but rather share few reflections that could inspire new students defining their next step forward, challenge current ways of working of our colleagues on the industry, help hiring managers to define the profiles that will fulfill the tasks in the best way possible, and maybe serve as an eye opener to find potential new win-win situations.
